Outlook
Alpheous reads your principal mailbox to triage what arrives and writes drafts for the messages that need a reply. The standing rule across every email path: agents write to Drafts, you click Send. No message leaves your account without you reviewing it.
Outlook is the connection to use if your firm runs Microsoft 365. It does the same work the Gmail connection does for firms on Google Workspace; you connect one or the other, not both.
What the Agents Do with Outlook
Inbound Triage
The Account Assistant watches your principal mailbox. When a new message arrives, it classifies the sender (an advisor, an LP, an internal note, a vendor), summarizes the ask, and surfaces anything that needs your attention as a card in Slack. Routine acknowledgements are noted quietly; messages that warrant a decision or a reply get the full treatment.
Reply Drafts for Your Inbox
When an inbound email needs a response, the Account Assistant drafts one and posts it in Slack for review. You can edit the wording, change the tone, or rewrite the draft entirely. Once you approve, the draft lands in your Outlook Drafts folder; you open Outlook and hit Send when you are ready.
Outbound Drafts from Signal Outreach
Signal Outreach writes outbound emails to advisors and prospects based on the signals it has picked up: a new filing, a recent meeting, a stale conversation worth restarting. Each draft posts as an approval card in Slack with the signal that prompted it. Approved drafts land in your Outlook Drafts folder; the send remains yours.
Meeting Follow-Up Drafts
After a recorded call, the Meeting Assistant writes a follow-up email based on what was actually said. The draft posts in Slack with the meeting brief and any commitments made; once you approve, it lands in your Outlook Drafts folder ready to send.

What Your IT Team Sets Up
Connecting Outlook is a one-time job for whoever administers your Microsoft 365 tenant. There are three parts, and we will walk them through it on the configuration call.
An app registration. Your administrator registers Alpheous as an application in your tenant and grants it consent. You keep the registration: it lives in your tenant, under your control, and you can revoke it at any time without going through us.
Three permissions, and no more. The application asks for permission to read and write mail, to send mail, and to read and write calendars. We send the exact list for your review before anyone grants consent, so you approve a specific set rather than a general request.
A restriction on which mailboxes it can reach. This is the one worth insisting on. Microsoft grants application permissions across the whole tenant by default, which is more than Alpheous needs or should have. Your administrator applies an Application Access Policy that confines the application to a named group of mailboxes, so it can reach the principal mailbox you intend and nothing else. This is a control on your side that we cannot apply for you, and we recommend it in every deployment.
How to Tell It Is Connected
When Outlook is connected, the Account Assistant posts inbox summaries and draft cards in its Slack channel during the workday. Approved drafts from any agent appear in your Outlook Drafts folder within a minute or two of you clicking Approve.
If you send yourself a test email and nothing surfaces in Slack within a few minutes, or approved drafts are not landing in Outlook, contact support@alpheous.com.
Agents only write to your Drafts folder. They never send email directly. You decide what goes out and when.
