Fit Score
Fit Score is where you tune how Alpheous ranks every firm in your universe against what a good client looks like for your firm. It scores two different questions at once: how strong a firm is in general, and how well a specific product matches that firm's book. Every score updates live as you adjust a weight, so you see the effect of a change on your whole universe before you commit to it.

:::tip Why This Page Matters This is the single control that decides which firms your team sees first. Raise a weight here and every downstream list, from the Prospector's rankings to the Hot 100, shifts toward firms that score well on it. :::
Generic Fit: How Strong Is The Firm
Generic Fit scores a firm's overall quality, independent of any product you might pitch it. It weighs the traits that make a firm worth your team's time at all:
- AUM Tier and Sweet Spot Points for landing inside your ideal assets-under-management band, plus a Minimum and Maximum that mark the edges of that band.
- Advisory Staff and Staff Size For Full Points Points for having advisory staff on payroll, with a staff count you set as the threshold for the full bonus.
- Discretionary Advice Points for firms that provide investment advice on a discretionary basis.
- Serves Target Clients Points for firms serving the client types you target: high-net-worth individuals, pensions, or institutional clients.
- Distribution Channels A capped bonus with points awarded per active distribution channel the firm reaches.
- Clean Compliance Record Points for a firm with no Item 11 disclosure events on file.
- Form ADV Recency A capped bonus for how recently the firm's Form ADV was filed, built from two windows you set: a Recent Filing Window in months that counts as fully fresh, and a Stale Filing Window in months beyond that where a filing still earns half the recency bonus.
Per-Product Fit: How Well A Product Matches
Per-Product Fit scores a firm against one specific product rather than your firm in general. The first field in this group, Passes All Product Criteria, is a hard gate: a firm that fails any product criterion scores zero for that product no matter how the rest of the weights are set. From there:
- AUM Fit Within Product Band Points for a firm whose assets under management sit inside the band this specific product targets.
- Sector Keywords A capped bonus with points per keyword match between the firm's sector focus and the keywords tied to the product.
- Distribution Channels The same capped, per-channel bonus as Generic Fit, scored against this product's own channel fit.
Reading The Live Preview And Saving A Change
Every weight change re-scores your entire universe immediately, before you save anything. The preview shows how many firms were scored, how they split across tiers, the mean and median score, a score distribution, and the top five firms under the weights as they currently stand. Use it to sanity-check a change: if the top tier no longer holds the firms you actually want your team working, or the top-five list looks off, adjust before you save rather than after.
Each weight group runs on its own fixed budget of 100 points, shown as a running total as you tune. Spending more on one field means spending less elsewhere, which keeps every firm scored on the same scale so no single input can quietly dominate the ranking.
When you are ready to save, you have to enter a short reason for the change. That reason is written to the audit log, so months later anyone can see who changed a weight, when, and why.
