Signal Tuning

Signal Tuning is one screen with two tabs, Thresholds and Heat, and together they decide how a signal's severity turns into two different things: the strength your CRM records, and the score that ranks how hot a firm is right now. You tune both from here, per signal type.

:::tip Why This Page Matters Every downstream list that ranks firms by urgency, from your CRM strength field to the Hot 100, ultimately reads off the values you set on this page. If the feed feels too loud or too quiet, this is where you fix it. :::

Thresholds: What Gets Written To Your CRM

A signal arrives from Alpheous with a severity. The Thresholds tab decides how that severity turns into the strength tier, Low, Medium, or High, that gets written to your CRM against the firm or contact it concerns. Every signal type defaults to passthrough: whatever severity comes in gets written as the same-named strength, with no override in effect.

You override a row only when you want the strength written to your CRM to differ from the signal's own severity. Turn a signal type's severity up if it consistently undersells what matters to your team, or down if it consistently overstates it. Rows left at passthrough are dropped when you save, so the page only ever tracks the overrides you have actually made, and it shows a running count of how many of your signal types currently carry one.

Heat: What Makes A Firm Rank Hot

The Heat tab is hidden from the main navigation as its own item, since it lives here as the second half of this screen. It sets the weight and half-life for every signal type that feeds a firm's Signal Heat score, the number that drives how hot a firm ranks in your universe right now.

Each row shows the shipped baseline weight and half-life, in days, for that signal type, and lets you set your own override for either value. Raising a signal type's weight makes that kind of signal count for more toward a firm's heat; shortening its half-life makes that signal's contribution fade faster, so older activity stops carrying weight sooner. A change here is scoped to your install only: it never touches the shipped baseline, and it takes effect the next time heat is recalculated, with no other action needed from you. The page shows a running count of your active overrides against the total number of signal types.
