Universe
This page covers three settings that shape the working universe of firms your team sees: the peer groups you compare a fund against, the self-maintaining Hot 100 list of firms actively in play, and a single filter that controls whether unmatched records show up at all.
:::tip Why This Page Matters Fit and signal scoring tell you how good a firm looks on paper. These three settings decide which firms are even in the running, how tightly your team's attention gets focused, and whether noisy, unmatched records clutter the view. :::
Peer Groups: Competitive Sets Per Fund
A peer group is the competitive set you compare one of your funds against. You can build a group by hand or bulk-load one from a spreadsheet.
The groups table shows each group's key, its display Label, Our Fund (your own fund's identifier within the group), a Members count, an Unresolved count flagged whenever a member could not be matched, and whether the group is Enabled.
To bulk-load a group, your file needs four columns: a group key, a member name, a raw identifier, and the identifier's type. Uploading first runs a validation pass that reports how many members resolved, how many did not, and how many belong to a new group, along with samples of anything unresolved, before you confirm the import.
Opening a group's detail panel lets you edit its Label, an optional Category such as a style box like Large Cap Blend, its Our Fund identifier, and whether it is Enabled. Its member list shows each competitor's product name (the identifier column itself switches to CUSIP or Ticker depending on how that member was identified), whether it resolved, whether it is marked as yours, and its status.
The Hot 100: Firms Actively In Play
The Hot 100 is a self-maintaining list of the firms your team is actively pursuing right now. It is off by default. Turn it on and the list recomputes daily and emits entry and exit signals as firms move on and off it.
General settings:
- List Size How many firms the list holds, from 1 to 1,000.
- Recency Window Activity older than this many days, from 1 to 365, contributes almost nothing to a candidate's score.
- Hysteresis Band An incumbent firm that falls just past the list size stays on the list if it is still within this band, so the list does not flap day to day. This has to be set at or above your list size.
- Drop Confirm How many consecutive days, from 0 to 60, a firm has to rank outside the list before it is actually dropped.
Scoring weights: five components, Open Deals, Touch Recency, Meeting Proximity, Signal Heat, and Firm Fit, each contributing up to its own weight toward the total score.
A Morning Briefing section, switched on separately, sends a daily roll-up of new entrants, fresh signals, and advancing deals at a Send Hour you choose, with the option to route it to a specific Slack channel instead of the firm owner's direct message.
A read-only section explains how firms get onto the list in the first place: CRM activity such as open deals, recent touches, and upcoming meetings (always on), the signal feed for firms with active signal stories, and Firm Fit for your top-scoring firms from the wider universe. Which of these sources feed the list is set up for your firm as part of onboarding, not from this page.
Display: What The Universe Shows
A single toggle controls whether the universe only shows firms and contacts that exist in your CRM. Turning it on hides any registry-sourced firm with no matching CRM company record, and any tracked contact with no matching CRM record, from the firm universe, your advisors list, and the Hot 100. The underlying data is not deleted, only hidden from view.
