Schedule

Prospector runs on a continuous cadence in the background plus three calendar-anchored daily runs that bracket the trading day. You can also trigger any of its work on demand from Slack.

What Runs Continuously

Two queues drain in the background, both at short intervals, so newly requested work gets picked up within a minute or two of being queued.

  • Enrichment queue: any entity queued for a fresh pull (by your request, by a meeting-prep run, by a discovery handoff, or by its own re-check cadence) gets picked up on a roughly one-minute heartbeat. Prospector runs every registered source against the entity, diffs the result, and posts a card if anything material changed.
  • Discovery queue: any domain you upload for discovery gets picked up on a roughly five-minute heartbeat. The five-step pipeline (people search, email finder, website scrape, email pattern, validator) runs against each domain in turn.

Both queues respect per-provider budgets and per-source cadences. If a source is not due for re-check, it is skipped on that pass.

Daily Morning Meeting Prep

Each weekday before the trading day starts, Prospector reads your calendar, identifies meetings that have external attendees, and runs a forced enrichment against every external person on the day. By the time you sit down, the latest profile is on the dashboard and a summary card is in the wholesale channel.

This is the run that lets you skim what is new across the day's contacts in a single read before your first call.

Daily Refresh Cycle

Each day in the early hours, Prospector picks the staleest entities in your book and runs a full re-enrichment against each. The selection is driven by the freshness score: entities that have not been touched in the longest run first. This is the cycle that keeps the dashboard from drifting and that catches the slow changes (a quiet job switch, a new credential, a recent press appearance) on entities you have not had reason to look up by hand.

The refresh cycle uses every registered source and writes back to HubSpot only when something material changed.

End-of-Day Digest

Each weekday afternoon, after the close, Prospector aggregates everything that happened across the book that day and posts one rolled-up card to the wholesale channel. The digest shows enrichment volume, the share of profiles that changed, the day's top movers, and any provider issues you should know about. On a day with no enrichment activity, the digest stays silent.

On-Demand Work

Any of the above can also be triggered from Slack. An on-demand enrichment, refresh, discovery batch, or meeting brief runs on the same queue as the scheduled work and follows the same source cadences. See Commands for the phrasings.

Freshness Thresholds

The per-source cadences (how often a source is re-checked) and the per-entity freshness threshold (when a profile is considered stale) are set by your administrator in Alpheous settings. Defaults aim for a working balance: fast re-check on signals that move (LinkedIn, press), slower re-check on signals that change less often (practice philosophy, firm bios). Your administrator can tune these per source without downtime if you want a tighter or looser pull on a given signal.
