Getting Started

Alpheous runs as a team of AI agents inside your firm's Slack workspace. Each agent watches its assigned area, prepares drafts, and asks for your approval before anything reaches an advisor, LP, or prospect. Your job is judgment: review the work, decide what goes out, and keep the relationships in your hands. The agents handle the prep, the research, and the writing.

The setup assumes you are already working the way an asset-management firm works. Distribution staff are covering territories. Account leads are sitting on top of LP relationships. Compliance is keeping an eye on the regulatory record. Alpheous plugs into that rhythm rather than replacing it.

How You Talk to the Agents

Almost everything happens in Slack. Each agent has its own channel and reads what you post there. You can also mention the product from any channel and your message gets routed to the right agent.

A typical first request looks like this:

@Alpheous brief me on the wholesaler I'm meeting at 2pm

The agent reads the request, pulls the context it needs from your CRM, your calendar, and the public record, and posts back a card you can act on. You stay in Slack the whole time.

If you are not sure which agent owns a task, just mention the product and let the routing decide. If you already know the area (regulatory, a specific advisor, a meeting prep), posting directly in that agent's channel is faster.

The Core Model: Watch, Draft, Approve

Every agent follows the same four-step pattern:

  1. Watch. The agent keeps an eye on its area. That might be your inbox for a specific account, the regulatory filings for the firms you cover, your calendar for tomorrow's meetings, or a wholesaler relationship that has gone quiet.
  2. Draft. When something needs your attention, the agent prepares a response, a brief, a summary, or a recommendation, with the reasoning attached.
  3. Ask. The draft posts to your Slack channel as a card with action buttons.
  4. Act. Only after you approve does anything go out. Emails send. Notes hit the CRM. Briefs publish to the team.

Nothing reaches an advisor, a wholesaler, an LP, or a prospect without a person approving it first. You can approve as drafted, edit the text inline, ask for a redraft with new instructions, or skip the item entirely.

:::tip Approval Buttons Most cards include Approve, Edit, Redraft, and Skip. Approve sends or files the item as drafted. Edit opens a text field so you can tweak the wording. Redraft asks the agent to try again with your feedback. Skip dismisses the card without sending anything. :::

What to Expect on Day One

When you sign in for the first time, the agents are already active. You will likely see:

  • A welcome card in your main agent channel confirming the setup is complete and pointing you at the agent channels.
  • Any drafts the agents have already prepared based on what is on your calendar, in your inbox, or in the regulatory record.
  • Scheduled items that run on a cadence. The Regulatory Digest, for example, posts a summary of recent filings for the firms and funds you cover.

You do not need to configure anything before you start. Open Slack, look at what is waiting, and respond to a card or two to get a feel for the rhythm.

First-Day Checklist

  • Open each agent channel in Slack and skim what is posted.
  • Respond to at least one approval card. Approve it, edit the text, or skip it; any of those is a valid first move.
  • Ask the Knowledge Base a question about your firm, a fund you cover, or an advisor in your territory.
  • Look through the agent roster in the sidebar so you know who handles what.
  • Read Your First Real Action for a full end-to-end walkthrough.

Where to Get Help

If a card is confusing or something looks off, ask in the agent's channel and your operations team will take a look. For account or access questions, email support@alpheous.com.

The rest of the docs covers each agent in detail: what it does, how to ask for things, what its notifications mean, and how to handle the most common questions. Use the sidebar to navigate, or jump to the full agent roster for the map of who does what.
