Frequently Asked Questions

Why Didn't A Filing I Know About Show Up In Today's Digest?

Regulatory Digest reads the public regulatory record on a daily cadence and filters to items that touch your coverage universe. A filing can be absent from the day's card for a handful of plain reasons: it landed outside the window the daily run covers, the filer is not in your tracked universe, or the classifier labeled it routine and dropped it below the visible bar.

If you expect a specific filing, check the source link in the next day's card or ask the agent directly for items from the relevant source. If the filing still does not appear and you believe the filer should be in the coverage universe, let your firm administrator know so the coverage list can be reviewed.

Why Is The Same Item Tagged "Notable" When I Think It Is Material?

Materiality is judged conservatively on purpose. Items that change a rule, set a clear enforcement precedent, or move an advisor or firm in your coverage book get the material label. Items that are useful context but do not shift action sit under notable.

If you read a notable item and decide it warrants action, act on it. The label is a default reading, not a decision. If a specific type of item keeps landing under notable when your team treats it as material, note the pattern and ask your administrator to look at the classifier rules.

Will Regulatory Digest Ever Contact An Advisor Or LP Directly?

No. The agent posts only to internal Slack channels. It does not send outbound messages, does not draft follow-ups, and does not surface tasks to any outside party. Any client-facing action that arises from a digest item happens through a separate agent or a teammate, and goes through that agent's own approval flow.

A Daily Card Did Not Appear This Morning. What Happened?

The most likely answers, in order: the prior day was quiet and the agent posted an empty-digest note instead of a card; the daily window had not yet closed when you checked; or the public source you expected an item from did not publish on the prior day.

Look for the empty-digest note first. If you see no card and no note, ask the agent for the latest daily digest on demand. If it still does not respond, contact your firm administrator.

Can I Change Which Advisors, Firms, And Funds The Agent Watches?

Yes. The coverage universe is configured by your firm administrator. Ask them to add or remove an advisor, firm, fund, or plan. Changes take effect on the next scheduled run.

Why Does The Weekly Rollup Look Different From Adding Up The Daily Cards?

The weekly rollup is not a sum of the daily cards. It groups items by theme rather than by source, surfaces a trend note across the week, and favors the standout items rather than full completeness. The framing changes with the cadence, so the weekly view will look organized differently from a stack of dailies even when it covers the same items.

Common Issues

  1. Open the item description and find the filing reference (filing type, filer name, and rough date).
  2. Search the source's own public site (SEC EDGAR, FINRA, DOL) using that reference.
  3. If you find the filing, no action is needed beyond reading it.
  4. If you cannot find it, contact your firm administrator with the headline text so the source attribution can be checked.

The Digest Card Looks Truncated Or Cut Off

  1. Refresh Slack. Some long cards take a moment to render fully.
  2. Click the card to expand if your client is hiding overflow.
  3. If the card still looks incomplete, ask the agent for the latest digest on demand. The agent regenerates the card from the same source data.
  4. If repeated requests produce the same truncated card, contact your firm administrator.

I Asked For A Source Filter And Got The Full Digest Instead

  1. Recheck the source name in your request. The agent recognizes SEC, FINRA, and DOL as filter terms.
  2. Try a more specific filing type instead of a broader source: "Form ADV amendments today" or "13F filings this week."
  3. If a clearly named source filter still returns the full digest, contact your firm administrator.

A Coverage-Universe Entity Stopped Appearing In The Digest Entirely

  1. Confirm with your administrator that the entity is still on the coverage list. Lists are periodically reviewed and entities can be removed.
  2. Check whether the entity has filed anything in the public record recently. A long quiet period at the filer's end produces a long quiet period in the digest.
  3. If the entity is on the list and is actively filing but is not appearing, contact your firm administrator.

The Empty-Digest Note Appears Several Days In A Row

A multi-day empty stretch is unusual but not impossible during a quiet market week or a holiday-shortened cycle. If you have seen empty notes for more than three consecutive trading days and you know material items have hit the wires during that window, contact your firm administrator so the source connections can be checked.
