What Alpheous Is

This page is the short answer to a simple question: what is this product, and what does it do for your firm? Read it first, before the agent pages or the setup guide, so the rest of the docs make sense.

Alpheous is an AI team for asset-management distribution. It does the research, the preparation, the drafting, and the follow-up around your conversations with advisors, wholesalers, and LPs, so your people can spend their time on the conversations themselves. The tagline says it plainly: Asset management, with an AI team on staff.

What It Does for You

Distribution and IR work is mostly preparation. Someone has to pull the advisor's history before a call, read the latest filings on a fund a prospect asked about, draft the follow-up email, log the notes, and remember to circle back in two weeks. That work is real, it is constant, and it is what keeps your best people out of the room.

Alpheous picks up that work. A team of specialized agents covers different parts of the job: finding and qualifying prospects, watching for buying signals, briefing you before meetings, drafting outreach and follow-ups, answering questions from your own knowledge, and tracking the regulatory record for the firms you cover. Each agent has a focused role, and they hand work to one another so a single request can move from research to a ready-to-send draft.

You work with them in Slack and the web app. You ask, an agent does the prep, and it posts back a draft with the reasoning attached. You read it, you decide, and the relationship stays yours.

The Safety Model: Watch, Draft, Approve

Everything in Alpheous runs on one rule. The agents watch and draft; you approve. An agent picks up a request or notices a signal, does the work, and posts a draft back to you. Nothing reaches an advisor, a wholesaler, an LP, or a prospect until a person approves it.

:::tip Why this matters Every later page in these docs leans on this one idea. When you read that an agent "sends a follow-up" or "files a note," it means it prepares that action and waits for your approval. You stay in control of every outbound message, call, and report. :::

For each draft you can approve it as written, edit the wording first, ask for a redraft with new instructions, or skip it entirely. The Getting Started guide walks through the buttons and what each one does.

What It Is Not

It helps to be clear about the boundaries, because they are deliberate.

It does not replace your team. The agents handle preparation and drafting. Judgment, relationships, and the decision to send anything stay with your people. The product is built to make your distribution and IR staff faster, not to stand in for them.

It does not send on its own. No email goes out, no note gets filed, and no message reaches a contact without a person approving it first. There is no autonomous mode that bypasses you.

It does not replace your CRM. Alpheous reads from the systems you already run, your CRM, your inbox, your calendar, and the public regulatory record, and writes approved updates back into them. It works alongside your CRM rather than becoming a new system of record you have to maintain.

It is not a single chat window. This is a team of focused agents, each owning an area, not one general-purpose assistant. You can mention the product anywhere and let it route your request, or go straight to the agent that owns the task.
